Everton mad Noel Gallagher fan Steve from our team at Cabbage Hall took time out to tell us all about life at Cabbage Hall, the team and being mistaken for Gary Barlow!
How long have you been part of the Pesto team?
Five months and I am enjoying every minute!
What is the best thing about working for Pesto?
Great food, great staff and genuine enjoyment to be there.
What is your favourite Pesto dish and drink?
Peposo is my favourite Pesto dish, it’s really tasty especially when washed down with a pint of the locally brewed Cabbage Hall real ale Whirley Bird – both excellent choices.

What’s the funniest thing to have happened to you in the restaurant?
A customer thought I was Gary Barlow and I was creating a TV programme! Obviously I don’t think I look like him at all, so it was very funny.
Which three celebrities (dead and / or alive) would you invite to dinner at Pesto?
I would invite my all time heroes, Noel Gallagher, John Lennon and Duncan Ferguson. I have loved Noel Gallagher since I was 14 years old, Everton’s Duncan Ferguson is a true hero and John Lennon – need I say more?
What inspired you to become a manager?
I’ve been in the catering industry from a young age and have always wanted to be Number One wherever I’ve worked. I want to make people smile and give my all to everyone I meet, which inspires me to be the best manager wherever I am.
After a meal at Pesto Cabbage Hall, what’s the best thing to do in Tarporley?
Tarporley and the surrounding area have so much to offer, come and find out for yourself!

What was the last event you attended and how was it?
I went to see Everton vs West Brom in the FA cup. It was the worst game I’ve seen for a long time and Everton were losing 1-0 until the very last minute, taking the game into extra time. I was disappointed I had to watch another lackluster half hour of football, but the Everton fans livened the game up and eventually Phil Neville scored securing a 2-1 win for Everton.
What does the next year at Pesto at the Cabbage Hall hold for you?
Over the course of the next year I will continue my focus on making Cabbage Hall an absolute delight to visit; I’d like people to know our names and to feel they can say “lets go the Cabbage Hall, Steven and the team will be there to look after us”. As a team we’ll continue to provide the best dining experience for our customers.
